Recording learning activities

For the time when complementary therapies catch up with the nursing profession regarding continuing professional development, I have design the following format to record all our learning activities as therapists.  It is based on the new Nursing and Midwifery Council's (formerly the UKCC) PREP (Post Registration Education and practice) requirements where UK Nurses are required to maintain a Professional Portfolio that shows evidence of a minimum of the equivalent of 5 days (37.7 hours) learning activities every 3 years in order to continue Registered as a Nurse.  They also require a minimum of 750 hours (100 working days) of practice in the 5 year period leading up to registration renewal.

Up until now, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Aromatherapists requires evidence of 36 hours "appropriate post graduate studies" every  3 years in order to renew registration. What constitutes appropriate studies is still very much a grey area - most therapists choosing to pay for courses advertised as 'approved' in order to gain the required number of hours study.

I use these forms for both my nursing PREP and my aromatherapy CPD.  You are welcome to copy them and use them as you wish.
