Restricted or repetitive patterns of behaviour

A compulsive desire for order: lining up objects, collecting etc.

Hypersensitivity to sounds, smells, touch or light

An insistence on routines and resistant to change

Eating problems, sleeping problems

Difficulty with unstructured time or waiting

 

Examples

Repeatedly watching videos or video segments 

Strong attachment to objects (part of a toy, string etc.) 

A compulsive desire for order: lining up objects, collecting etc. 

An obsessive interest that takes over all conversation

Pacing up and down, running round and round, the need to follow lines and cracks in the pavement etc. 

Hypersensitivity to sounds, smells, touch or light 

Exploring objects through smell, licking, touching 

Negative reaction to the unexpected 

Perfectionism - always wants to finish as task before starting another 

Impaired response to pain or temperature 

Lack of fear for real danger 

Excessive fearfulness for a harmless object or situation or sudden noise

Defensive to touch that isn’t self-initiated 

Faddy eating, will only eat certain things

Difficulty with unstructured time or waiting
