Using aromatherapy, massage and sensory activates for people with special needs

People with severe communication disorders such as autism, and those with profound and multiple disabilities are not able or willing to actively seek interaction with others and have to rely on others offering opportunities to interact and learn. The assessment and schedule are based on the principle of developing communication through interaction, sensory stimulation and situational understanding - all necessary skills in the acquisition of language and social understanding.  Using aromatherapy and related sensory massage techniques, the Sensory Schedule offers a safe, enjoyable and secure environment in which to develop these skills.  Using Essential Oils in the Workplace: Policy Guidelines  Contents page
